Leo Billy Love

The first Tuesday in August brings lots of Leo birthdays, some familiar favorites & we welcome some new friends. We open the show with good friends The Devious Angels. Jon & Steevie are the Gram & Emmy of our generation. Keeping the spirit and sound of the pioneers of the Americana sound alive, The Devious Angels rock at 7pm. Special guests Sara Neimeitz and Snuffy Walden join us from Los Angeles for a special set. Sara is in town to sing a duet with B.J. Thomas. She is a regular actor/musican on GLEE and has extensive movie and theater credits. Snuffy Walden is renowned as the leading composer for music on television with such shows a thirtysomething, The Wonder Years, The West Wing and Friday Night Lights to his credit. Sara and Snuffy play at 7:30pm. Exciting young bluegrass band Boy Named Banjo make their debut at 8pm. I met BNB guitarist William Reimer’s grandfather playing golf a few weeks ago and he turned me onto their CD. So glad for that! New female duo Sarah & Lindsay make their debut performing music from their 12in12 project at 8:30pm. From one of America’s great musical family’s comes Billy Prine. Billy is the brother of Folk music icon John Prine and Billy is a star in his own right. Billy has a wonderful new collection of songs he has just made available to the world and is sharing it with us on The Billy Block Show LIVE from Nashville! at 9pm. Continuing our 16-year tradition of making newcomers to Nashville welcome we present rockin’ new country band, Angel Mary & The Tennessee Werewolves. They debut at 9:30pm. Headlining at 10pm is pop singer/songwriter Melissa Fuller playing music from her recent CD Crazy Dream. Produced with Nashville hit-maker Chad Carlson (Taylor Swift) Melissa is one to watch!

Please join me at Third & Lindsley on Wednesday, Aug. 8 at 7:30pm as I’ll be playing drums with Rick Vito & The Lucky Devils. Rick Vito is one of the truly great guitarists on the planet. Vito is best known for his slide guitar playing on songs “Like A Rock” by Bob Seger, his 5 year stint with super-group Fleetwood Mac and his work with Bonnie Raitt and John Fogerty. Charlie Harrison and I will be holding down the rhythm section as Rick soars on guitar and vocals!
